Walk or drive the exact block and the routes you will actually use—to the garage, restaurants, trails, transit, gym or grocery. Look at lighting, sidewalks, crossings, traffic speed, construction, nearby businesses and how the area feels at the times you expect to be there. A strong neighborhood reputation does not guarantee every block offers the same experience.
