Texas Aggies Moving to Dallas: WHY LIVE IN ADDISON? 🌟
Howdy y’all! As a brand-new Texas Aggie grad stepping out into the “real world,” one of the biggest decisions I faced after graduation was where to live in Dallas. There are so many great neighborhoods, but let me tell you why Addison quickly became one of my top choices—and why so many Aggies end up here after graduation!
🍔 Addison = The Restaurant Capital of Texas
If there’s one thing Aggies love (besides football and saying “Howdy!”), it’s good food. Addison is packed with over 200 restaurants in just four square miles—yes, you read that right! From Tex-Mex and BBQ to sushi and brunch spots, you’ll never run out of new places to try with friends. For a new grad who doesn’t want to cook every night, Addison is a dream.
🎉 Addison Circle & Young Professional Vibes
Addison has a reputation for being a hub for young professionals. Apartment communities here are full of recent grads starting careers in Dallas. It’s super easy to meet people at resident socials, pool parties, or just hanging out around Addison Circle. If you’re worried about feeling isolated after leaving College Station, Addison makes it easy to find your new “adult” friend group.
🚗 Central Location = Easy Commute
One of the biggest perks of Addison is how central it is. You’re only about 15 minutes north of downtown Dallas, and close to both the Dallas North Tollway and 635. That means you can get to Uptown, Legacy West in Plano, or even DFW Airport quickly. For new grads starting careers all over the metroplex, this location is a lifesaver.
🎆 Events & Festivals Galore
Addison doesn’t just sit quietly in the middle of Dallas—it knows how to host a good time. From Kaboom Town (one of the best July 4th fireworks shows in the nation) to Oktoberfest, Addison always has something going on. It’s like living in a small town with big city events right at your doorstep.
🏡 Apartments for Every Style
Let’s be real—housing matters. Addison has tons of modern apartments, often more affordable than Uptown or Downtown, but still packed with amenities like resort-style pools, gyms, and dog parks. Many are super walkable to restaurants and coffee shops, making it easy to live that “work hard, play hard” lifestyle.
💡 Final Thoughts From an Aggie
Moving to Dallas can feel overwhelming—there are so many neighborhoods to choose from. But if you want a spot that’s fun, social, central, and Aggie-friendly, Addison should definitely be on your list.
So, fellow Aggies, if you’re looking for a place where you can eat well, meet new people, and feel at home in Dallas, Addison might just be your perfect landing spot after graduation. 👍🏼
