MOST POPULAR AREAS OF AUSTIN FOR AGGIES!

🌟 MOST POPULAR AREAS OF AUSTIN FOR AGGIES! 🌟
Howdy Ags! 🤠 Just graduated, maroon still running through my veins, and now I’m officially in Austin figuring out this whole “real world” thing. Like a lot of us, the first big decision after graduation wasn’t just what job to take—it was where the heck am I going to live in Austin?

Austin is HUGE, and every area has a different vibe. Some places feel like a continuation of college life, while others scream “you’re officially adulting.” After doing the tours, asking around, and seeing where other Aggies land, here are the most popular spots in Austin for us Aggie grads.

🏙️ 1. Downtown Austin

If you’re wanting the excitement of 6th Street, Rainey Street, and Lady Bird Lake right outside your door, Downtown is it. Living here is basically like still being on campus but with way more glass towers and way more brunch options. It’s pricey, but if you’re looking to work hard and play hard, you’ll definitely find other Aggies in this area.

🌿 2. East Austin / Mueller

East Austin is the artsy, eclectic side of the city that’s blowing up right now. Think coffee shops, murals, breweries, and food trucks everywhere. Mueller, which is a master-planned community right in East Austin, has tons of modern apartments, great parks, and a young professional vibe that Aggie grads love.

🏡 3. The Domain / North Austin

If you’re working at one of the tech companies (hi Dell, Apple, Amazon!), chances are your commute will take you to North Austin. The Domain is basically a “city within the city” with restaurants, bars, and shops all in walking distance. Lots of Aggies end up here because it’s convenient, fun, and full of other recent grads.

🌳 4. South Congress (SoCo)

SoCo is iconic Austin—funky shops, rooftop bars, and amazing restaurants. It has a slightly more laid-back vibe compared to Downtown, but you’re still super central. Aggies who want the Austin experience without the chaos of 6th Street tend to flock here.

🍔 5. South Lamar / Zilker

If you love the outdoors, this area is GOLD. You’ll be right next to Zilker Park (hello ACL Fest 🎶), Barton Springs, and the hike-and-bike trails. South Lamar has tons of apartments, breweries, and tacos (priorities). Perfect for Aggies who want that balance of outdoor living with city fun.

đź’ˇ My Take as a New Aggie Grad

Moving from College Station to Austin was a shock—bigger city, way more traffic, and rent that made me clutch my wallet. But honestly? Austin has a ton of spots where Aggies can thrive.

Whether you want the excitement of Downtown, the creative energy of East Austin, the career convenience of The Domain, or the laid-back vibes of South Austin, you’ll find plenty of fellow Ags along the way.

So wherever you land—just remember, once an Aggie, always an Aggie. Gig ’em! 👍
